Helping Children In Need Succeed

Helping Children In Need Succeed was formed in 2011 with the sole purpose to be able to give away free school supplies and provide Christmas assistance in the community and to those that are in need.
 

My name is Evangelist, Felecia Hughes. I am a mother of 4 daughters & 13 grandchildren whom I love dearly. I am a member Of Compassionate Community C.O.G.I.C., where I am a active member and have been since 1987. I have a passion for helping others​.

I have always believed that it was better to give than receive. That is when I had an idea to form Helping Children In Need Succeed. In 2011, it was no longer a dream and I was able to put it into full force. I jumped on every penny, nickel, and quarter sale in order to give out free school supplies to 150 children in the community. In 2012, Helping Children In Need along with Compassionate Community Ministries reached out to Roland Parrish, who is the owner of several McDonald's Restaurants. He agreed to assist in my endeavor. In that same year, I reached out to David King, who was the manager at Levine's Pleasant grove, and he donated nap sacks for distributing the school supplies.  In 2013, Liz Clayborn with Minyards food store donated some school supplies. Since forming Helping Children in Need Succeed along with Compassionate Community Ministries have given out free school supplies to over 1500 children. In 2015, We reached out to WFAA news to seek assistance for a Christmas giveaway. They agreed and in December 2015 We were able to giveaway free Christmas toys and etc to over 700 families. This is just the beginning of building a relationship with the community and to let them know that we are here to assist when help is needed.
